The third edition of The Governor’s Mansion is a collaboration between governor Jan Briers, the province East Flanders and HISK, Higher Institute for Fine Arts.

Trust in the Unexpected

The exhibition presents work of the current HISK artists alongside several alumnai, engaging with the baroque spaces of the Governor’s Mansion in Gent. This exhibition is an opportunity to study these spaces and experiment with display in conditions very much unlike the classical timeless white cube. The dynamic of trust and doubt is at play in every exhibition, when artists and curators have to embrace disorientation and a search for new coordinates.

The exhibition runs from Octobre 14th till Decembre 3rd:

• on Friday, 14:00 – 18:00: guided tours – only for groups on demand (els.van.de.kauter@oost-vlaanderen.be)
• on Saturday and Sunday,  11:00 – 18:00: open for the public
