Eva-Maria Bogaert
Her installations touch the thin line between physics experiments and art film, and painting.
Concentrated on the phenomenon of “time”, they celebrate continuities and process. The resulting pictures are landscape sequences, fields of structure passing by, a painting of the cinematic.
Eva-Maria Bogaert works with very simple, “poor” materials, in this specific case with slides and slide projectors, i.e. with light, and also with reel-to-reel tape recorders, plastic rails, nails, rolls, and sheets of wood. This touches upon aspects of poetic enlightenment against the anarchy of the media jungle. Eva-Maria Bogaert also addresses the theme of her relationship to her own work, effecting the inclusion of the picture wanders and moves in tought. It is modulated and changes. The tought wanders in the (moving) pictures. The real and the apparent mix. Without any phoniness, strain, or dogmatism, visual events are worked up that radiate a sensual-formal presence.
