Wim de Maat (Sint-Jansteen, the Netherlands, 1957) studied both monumental arts at the St. Lucas Academy in Ghent, as well as the restoration of artworks at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, also in Ghent. He lived and worked consecutively in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands. A few years ago he returned to Ghent and occupies here once again an atelier.
His vision transtlates itself into artworks of various kinds, such as monumental paintings, mostly without frames and rollable, objects, installations, performances, films and photos.
The continuous research in his atelier now focuses on the making of photos, films and paintings and the registering of performances.
