Louise Degraeve is a photographer and graphic designer living and working in Ghent. Her pictures are fractions of everyday life in which sensitivity prevails. In those humble moments she searches for stillness and honesty. While the baby sleeps is an ode to the peacefulness these moments can signify.

After photographing, she cuts out the essence of her images. This generates a play of looking, approaching, touching, suggesting and confusing. The viewer recognises personal memories in her visual language of postures and human actions. Thus, she invites one to step into this intimate world, in search of the fragility of relationships, propelled by the power of suggestion.
