They talk like blind men and an elephant — Jeroen Van der Fraenen

sat 05 - sun 13.11.2016

BLANCO - Coupure Rechts 308 - 9000 Ghent

This exhibition of sculptural objects interacting with posterprinted images aims to construct a stage where daily life meets the metaphysical and the impulsive.

The story of the blind men and the elephant serves both as an excuse and anchorpoint for this interaction.
The tale originated from Asia and became well known in Europe with J. G. Saxe's version in the form of a poem.

This is the first verse:

It was six men of Indostan To learning much inclined, Who went to see the Elephant (Though all of them were blind), That each by observation Might satisfy his mind.
