Het werk van Jelle Martens ontstaat vanuit een eigen ontwikkelde taal die als aanpak heeft de alsmaar bewegende omgeving te vatten. Het aftasten van de beeldkracht is hierdoor een reflecterende ‘ruimte’ om in te bewegen, waar de noden van het beeld het beeld zelf is. Balanceren in het ongebalanceerde.
