Voor het vierde seizoen op rij nestelt BLANCO zich als bewoner op DOK, de tijdelijke invulling en 'werfplek voor verpozing en creatieve manoeuvres' aan de oude dokken in Gent. BLANCO nodigt er gedurende het seizoen maandelijks een andere kunstenaar uit die in dialoog gaat met de plek, haar bewoners en bezoekers tijdens een residentie van één maand.
De kunstenaars krijgen drie grote ramen aan de kade als fysiek vertrekpunt, … vanwaar ze in het begin van de maand hun werkperiode inluiden.
Een aantal kernbegrippen vormen hiervoor het vertrekpunt; grenzen, flexibiliteit, mobiliteit, vertrouwen, deelatelier met publieke functie, gastvrijheid, superdiversiteit, zelfbestuur, boerenverstand, radicaal. In 2018 voegt DOK ‘erkenning' toe aan dat lijstje — I HEAR YOU.

Fata Morgana — Ines Claus
Ines Claus studied Fine Arts (Drawing) at KASK Ghent.
Her works on paper / canvas are often on the thin line between drawing, painting and/or installation.
Her latest themes arouse around all the different depictions of the figure of the palm tree and its' numerous shapes. Often a mix of paradise views combined with more earthly, humorous or surreal elements.
For DOK she conceived a panoramic work on canvas of 1,5 x 6 m that arises as a fata morgana with an empty, private swimming pool, which no one has ever penetrated, but the fountains do work. And the coolness of the colors refresh the eyes in seek for more paradise on the other side...
